You can't have my self esteem

Does body image and self esteem really have anything to do with each other? Absolutely, after all poor body image comes from the negative thoughts and feelings about how you feel about your appearance and self esteem is the way you think and feel about yourself. I would definitely say there's a connection between the two. If the average size woman in America is a size 16 than why is it when I pass by the magazine rack or turn on the television, the model is always a size 4. True beauty comes from within and it's time we celebrate that. Our young girls have enough to worry about and now they have to worry about body shaming too? Good self esteem is important for everyone because it helps us keep a positive outlook on life and makes us feel proud of the person we are. So whether you are a size 4 or a size 16 just know that beauty isn't one sided, it comes in all shapes and sizes and don't let anyone tell you anything differently. So the next time you see the "mean girl" trying to body shame you or your peer for who you are; I say to her, shame on you for not celebrating how diverse we are. @SSaysome #GirlPower #Seesomething-say something #Nomorebodyshaming
